Functions of the MMDCEs (Mayors)
(1) There shall be a District Chief Executive (Mayor) for each district who shall be appointed by the President with the prior approval of not less than two-thirds majority of the members of the District Assembly present and voting at the meeting.
(2) The District Chief Executive ( Mayor) is the chairman of the Executive Committee of the District Assembly.
(3) The District Chief Executive (Mayor) shall-
(a) preside at meetings of the Executive Committee of the District Assembly and in his absence a member of the Executive Committee elected by the members present from among themselves shall preside;
(b) be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the executive and administrative functions of the Assembly;
(c) be responsible for the supervision of the departments of the Assembly; and
(d) be the chief representative of the central Government in the District or Municipality

Working Experience: First appointed as a Senior Executive Officer in the Ghana Health Service in 2005 and later promoted Principle Executive Officer in 2009 and later upgraded to Administrative Manager in 2009.
She was promoted to a Senior Administrative Manager in 2012. After her Master’s program, she was posted to North Gonja District Health Directorate in 2016 as a Public Health Officer where she doubled as the Deputy Director of Health Service. She served in that capacity until 2017 when the President of the Republic Nominated her as a District Chief Executive where she got an overwhelming 100% confirmation. She was later upgraded to a Municipal Chief Executive(Mayor) in 2018.
Whiles serving as a Municipal Chief Executive (Mayor), she is contested and won the position of NALAG Women Causus President. She is also the RAFELA-GHANA Chapter, a female Pan African Organisation under UCLGA.
She is a feminist, a development activist and enthusiastic in child rights and development.
She is married to Alhaji Engr. Mohammed Habib Abdallah with six children.
